Hi, I’m Casey Wagner,
the homemaker and artist behind Daylily Home. My degree is in Premed, but though I was accepted to a PA program after graduation, I changed courses to pursue my bigger dream of being a homemaker. My husband and I have now been married for over twelve years and are constantly amazed that we get to be the parents of six lively children. While a piece of my heart will always remain in my childhood home of Vancouver Island, BC, I also love my current home in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula - it is harder to miss the sea when Lake Superior is right around the corner.
Though a homemaker’s job is never done, we all make choices about which tasks can be temporarily ignored in favour of something else: Therefore, I can often be found working on a handcraft project. I don’t have any formal art training (though a few instructive sessions in fiber arts, drawing, and linocut over the years have been helpful in developing some of my interests), but my desire to create has been part of me as long as I can remember. It is my firm belief that as Image-bearers of the great Creator, all people are artists of some kind, whether their art is expressed through handcrafts, music, home decorating, storytelling, gardening, photography, or any other outlet. Some people just enjoy that creative side of themselves a little more than others do!
I do not work in a quiet art studio but at my desk (thank you, FB Marketplace) in the corner of our living room. My children not only provide some of the inspiration for my creative journey, but also enthusiastic encouragement as they sweetly commend my designs and make their own drawings and stamps alongside me. I hope that what you find here at Daylily Home conveys some of the simple joy of this home-life.
Soli Deo Gloria.
My Dream
While my art includes plenty of just-for-fun designs at the moment and is still just quietly sitting here in a small corner, I have a big goal - to grow my business into a force for good in my community and continent. I plan to expand my pro-family and pro-life designs on Redbubble so that the power of visual art can help you effectively share your Christian values in our increasingly dark culture.
The Foundation
God’s love for children is reiterated throughout the Christian Scriptures. Matthew 19:14 says, “Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.’” Psalm 127:3 says, “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.” It is my desire to promote both the value of children (born and unborn) and the value of Christian families to love them.
Will You Help?
Your support means the world to me. If you are not in a position to purchase original art or Redbubble products yourself, you can be a supporter just by sharing my website or your favourite design with your circle of friends. The further my art can reach, the more chance it has of making an impact. Thank you!
